One day I thought I'd try adding a delay effect to a piano track and see if I could compose something that would go with it.

It sounded okay, but then it occurred to me that one could add a more subtle echo effect to the composition itself by repeating notes and phrases.

In the latter case, one could fully control which notes are echoed, how many times and at what rate, even varying those variables throughout, which I think makes for a more interesting effect than using a delay plugin.

It also avoids those sometimes unwanted moments of dissonance when doing key changes, which I tend to do in most of my compositions, including this one.

From Norway, but living in Scotland, I am a poet, artist, designer, photographer, and long-time dabbler in music.

I love playing traditional music from Brittany, Norway and Ireland, as well as my own compositions.
